Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)

Vision Statement

To help couples thrive in their marriage by providing empowering educational tools to nourish and cherish each other in a healthy marriage relationship. This ministry will not only play a pivotal role in building successful marriages, but it will also impact children, families, the church, the community and ultimately, the world.

To learn and develop marriage enrichment and communication skills; understanding what the Bible says about marriage; participate in bi-weekly program meetings and social events; attend quarterly workshops/seminars and coaching sessions; annual honeymoon retreat.

Target Audience

Premarital couples (dating with intention of marriage); married couples (relationship enrichment); couples in crisis (communication barriers, trust/betrayal, separated, etc.). Also, couples living together with children (thinking out of the box to address an untapped population).

Treasure Hunts

One distinct thing that makes adult scavenger hunts more fun is the fact that (most!) participants are responsible enough to hop in a vehicle and cover more distance! Gifts and surprises are rewarded to the couple who scores the most.  Scavenger hunt ideas are available from our Marriage Life Team.

Movie Nights

“With Your Mate”

There’s something fun and unique about having a romantic date night at home with your partner. You don’t need to book any tables or stand in any lines, there’s no fear of sitting next to someone crunching loudly on

popcorn at the movies. It’s a lot more special and intimate having a private movie night with the one you love.

“With Other Couples”

Select an appropriate movie, and join other married couples for an early weekend dinner followed by a movie.

Weekend to Remember

“Local Hotel”

“Getting away together” is a lot more fun if you actually do it. No laundry, no calendar, no email. So we recommend staying overnight at the event hotel, with a special discount for all Weekend to Remember guests.

Couples attend Weekend to Remember because they’re ready to invest in their marriage and intentionally move towards oneness. You and your mate will understand God’s blueprint for marriage so you can create a legacy of greatness. Attendees say their relationships improved on average from a 4/10 to an 8/10 after one weekend.

Marriage Retreats

A couples’ weekend retreat at a local Ohio State Lodge is an event dedicated to improving marriages. These retreats are designed to allow couples a break from their daily lives to focus on each other and develop their relationship.

Benefits of attending a Couples’ Retreat:

1. Put God in the center of your relationship
2. Time away from kids, work, and the stresses of life
3. Dedicated time to focus on your relationship
4. Have fun with your spouse
5. Learn valuable tools

This benefit is perhaps the most obvious benefit of a marriage retreat–learning wisdom and advice on marriage. Whether you’ve been married for three months or 30 years, there’s always more to learn about God’s design for marriage and how to improve your relationship with your spouse.
